New Year’s Day at the Races
By Cotswold Life on January 1st 2012
The High Sheriff of Gloucestershire hosted a charity luncheon, sponsored by Savills and Charles Russell, at the Cheltenham Races on New Year’s Day.
The 135 guests enjoyed the benefits of the Istabraq Room for the day, including top tips from Edward Gillespie, the Managing Director of Cheltenham Racecourse.
Almost £10,000 was raised for the High Sheriff’s Charitable Trust, which this year is supporting Crimebeat, a charity that disperses grants to groups who deter youth crime, and a new project ‘Getting Court’ that introduces school children (Years 8 & 9) to Gloucester County Court, encouraging good citizenship.
